Creativity is positive
Being creative is changing your life in a positive way. Moreover, homemade and thought-out things enrich not only your own life, but also your environment. “It gives you a great feeling if you have created something that you can be proud of,” says Rineke.
A trip
“I needed to do something completely different. It was a challenge for me to make a Ball Jointed Doll, a doll that consists of many parts and that you can move through ball joints. The doll is made of clay. You thread all parts together with elastic and it becomes a lifelike being. You can put the doll in all sorts of poses and make it up to your own taste, wear a wig and dress it up. Because I had so many notes, I decided, while I was making the doll, to write a book about it in Dutch and English, so that others can make such a special doll. How to make a Ball Jointed Doll is, as far as we know, the only book about making a BJD. “The doll can be seen during the Big Hobby and Crea Market, next to the book.

New possibilities
I made earrings from the clay that remained. They can also be admired and bought here. New creativity and opportunities to take new paths again. I also show some small paintings on this Great Hobby and Crea Market. Creativity is an ongoing process, especially if you occasionally take new paths. In doing so, it brought back my sense of painting and my imagination got going again. I am now busy making paintings of Mathilde Willink for Mathildeday 7-7-2018 in Terneuzen. That’s the day she would have turned 80 if she had been alive. ”
Testimonials
Elly van Wolferen-Klerkx: “I followed 6 years of classes with Rineke de Jong. It was a very pleasant and especially instructive time and the results may be there. I have learned a lot like applying different painting techniques and also working with other materials and other types of paint. I am quite proud of the paintings that I have been able to make, thanks to her good and strong instructions. I can certainly recommend Rineke to others as a teacher. When I look at her paintings, I see great craftsmanship. Her work really appeals to me and is certainly unique. Rineke is also very diverse with other art such as the manufacturing of dolls. See also the book she has written about this. “
Tjerk van de Witte: “The assignment to paint a portrait of my wife, by painter Rineke de Jong, arose after a very serious illness of my wife. I would like to have a memory of her from our starting period. I gave the painter the freedom to express her own expression and feeling in the portrait. She has realized a beautiful colorful portrait from a black and white photo from the sixties. Every day it gives me a feeling of happiness when I see it. Thank you Rineke. I would definitely recommend you to others. “
Peter de Jongh: “You have two sides, an esoteric and the earthy side, that makes it interesting to follow you.” My preference has everything to do with how I am and feel or maybe how you have been mangled over time. and kneaded, because in the end life does not pass unnoticed by you, your earthy side, the paintings of earthy fruits and vegetables, most appeals to me, often quiet and small, and that is why I have bought art from this side of you. About your esoteric paintings, I find that it clearly shows how great your drawing skills are, and how well you can bring movement / motion into your paintings, I would certainly recommend to someone else. “
