Still lifes

Still lifes

In May/June the garlic is harvested and sold in the French Provence. Huge quantities per kilo, loose, in bundles or strands. I buy them per kilo, paint them and eat them afterwards. Delicious!  Because they intriged me, I started painting garlic. Afterwards I did tomatoes, they are fun to paint and have a delicious taste. After the painting was finished the the tomatoes were a little bit wrinkled and they were only fit for the tomato soup. And so I went on, other fruits and vegetables became subject to paint. There are many more interesting subjects for still life painting, let’s see what comes up in the future.
